This year’s conference dinner and club night will take place at one of Leipzig’s most beautiful and famous event locations the Moritzbastei, where historic architecture meets modern cultural life. Built in 1551-1553 it is the last remaining part of the old fortifications of Leipzig. It is open to everyone who appreciates a tolerant atmosphere and whose life cannot be imagined without culture. The MB is situated right next to the Leipzig University in the city centre, so you can easily walk by foot from the hotel or the conference. The buffet of the conference dinner will be fully vegetarian and offer vegan options as well.

To maximize opportunities for communication and networking, there will be a mix of both seating areas and areas with standing tables in an informal atmosphere.

The club night program will take place on two floors and offer a wide range of entertainment. Highlights involve the legendary GfÖ band, the iDiv house DJ Roland Krämer and the alternative rock band WAL, which belongs to scientific committee member and head of the sDiv Synthesis Center Marten Winter.

If you do not want to attend the conference dinner but would like to join the party afterwards please purchase a club night ticket (Euro 10.00). The club night is already included in the dinner ticket.

WAL (tbc)

WAL is an atmospheric Indierockband from Halle (Saale) with the focus on powerful and melodic chorus parts, which will stick in your heads for a while. They will take you with them on their journey searching for the pure essence in music. Their music is sometimes described as rocky version of Radiohead or Coldplay with postrock elements.

You can find their music on all major streaming platforms, youtube and hear and buy their music on bandcamp.
